Whitney Mattila is a freelance illustrator living in the
rolling
hills of southern Indiana. After receiving a Bachelors of Fine Arts at
the IUPUI Herron School
of Art and Design in Indianapolis, IN, and a Post-Baccalaureate degree
at the
Minneapolis College of Art and Design in Minneapolis, MN, her expertise
at drawing things other than her cat has increased. However, an artist
is always growing, so she will continue to fine-tune her ability to
draw things that are not cats.
As a whole, Whitney likes to draw a variety of
subjects
and, while her artwork may be sometimes surreal or serious, she rarely
takes herself as seriously. She loves
to use watercolor, ink, and her computer for her artwork, though she
doesn't limit herself to one or the other, and loves to experiment.
It's rumored that Whitney lives with a cat named
Winnie, who seems unaware of any reasons why her human needs to go
outside instead of be with her or why her human must draw anything
besides her. Winnie also demands frequent pettings
from Whitney, and will throw up in front of her bed if she is not
sufficiently spoiled rotten for the day. She also has a niece and
nephew, the former of which wants to constantly play with her
watercolors.
